January 11, 2008-At Sea

We sailed away from Sydney last evening with a beautiful sunset. What a great city!

Our day on the ship today has been restful and quiet. We slept late. I had some time on the balcony for yoga and reading and when Jim got up we had a great breakfast in the dining room.

This is the Grand Staircase going between decks 4-5.

This ships features a main dining room on deck 5, a buffet restaurant on deck 9, a grill on 9 beside the pool and two special restaurants (Polo Grill and an Italian restaurant-Toscana) where you can go for extra delicious food at no extra cost.

We love the comfortable library with the many books to borrow, magazines to read, and chairs to sink into as you read. The ceiling is a beautifully painted one.
There is a large lounge for entertainment, lectures, Trivia and other things. There are 4 bars- Horizons on deck 10 in the front (for) area of the ship, Martini's on deck 5 mid-ships, The Grand Bar outside the Grand Dining Room on deck 5 in the back of the ship (aft), and there is a bar by the pool and when there is something happening in the Nautica lounge there is a bar open there.
The ship only has 700 passengers and our stateroom- 7035 is forward of the ship on the starboard side of the ship.
Heard a great lecture this afternoon on pirates. He was funny and informative.
Going to play Trivia and not going later to the Captain's party.
