The Next Adventure

Tomorrow, May 12th, we are off on our next adventure. Today we are busily gathering our stuff and packing our bags as we try hard to take just the right amount of clothes for this journey. We’ve picked up a rental car for the 4 hour drive to Port Everglades in Ft. Lauderdale.

We’ll get aboard the Regent Seven Seas Voyager. This is our favorite cruise line and our favorite ship in their fleet. The ship carries 700 passengers and a crew of 475. A cruise on Regent Seven Seas means everything is included in the one price- gratuities for staff; dining in the specialty restaurants, Signatures and Prime 7; delicious food in the regular dining room; shore excursions; internet; good lecturers, excellent entertainment, and ALL drinks. It is wonderful feeling of being pampered all the time.

Our stateroom is 356 square feet- including a 50 sq.ft. balcony. The majority of the staterooms are this size and the prices differ by their place on the ship. There are some much larger staterooms but we have always been quite happy anywhere on the ship.

We have a family from Iceland arriving on Saturday to stay in our house while we are away. Part of our journey will include 3 days in Iceland so you’ll hear more about that. We've been keeping track of the volcano through a webcam that our Icelandic guests told us about.

We are both so grateful to have seen so much of the world and to be off again to see places, some familiar and some very new, to us. People always ask what our favorite trip was and we both smile as a flood of memories and places cross our minds. Jim's normal response is “Either the last one we were on or the next one coming up.” Having seen so many amazing sights it is hard to answer a question like that.

So we are off on the next one. Stay tuned to read about it all.
