Elaine and Jim's Travels: United Kingdom Here We Come

We have not traveled in a long time - since our Cuba trip Christmas of 2018. COVID and age challenges have kept us from continuing to explore the world. We are about to embark on a two part journey to London and the on a 7 day trip on a narrow canal boat from England into Wales and back again.

We will be staying for 6 days in London at our son Bill and his family's flat and then going to Ellesmere to the Blackwater Marina to meet up with our daughter Kathryn Barnett, her two children Christopher and Olli and her friend, Bruce Kennedy for 7 nights on the canal boat Bruce will be our Captain, Kathryn, Christopher and Olli will be our crew and we'll be the passengers.

We leave Wednesday to fly through Detroit to Heathrow in London. We'll have a great time, I am sure, with Bill and then get aboard the Dartford Warbler- a narrow canal boat that sleeps the 6 of us. Never done any thing like this before. So at 82 we are excited and a tad uncertain how it will all work out. But our companions have strongly encouraged us so we found we just had to accept the offer and the help.
